What are physical therapists?
Physical therapists are health care & exercise science professionals who are licensed by the state of Pennsylvania. Physical therapists are encouraged to complete a doctoral degree which includes study in basic and applied sciences, clinical sciences, social sciences and research. Physical therapists are trained to evaluate and treat your current physical and functional condition while designing a treatment program to give pain relief and restore function. Physical therapists are healthcare practitioners and work with your physicians to help you get the most out of your bodies. Physical therapists have the medical training to recognize when rehabilitation is not right for you and can help you seek the correct medical intervention that might be needed. If you have experienced difficulty moving any part of your body secondary to pain, stiffness, weakness, fatigue or poor balance then treatment at Doylestown Physical Therapy Associates is likely indicated.

What is a treatment session like?
We use a combination of therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, modalities and patient education to correct movement & tissue dysfunction in the body. This is not a massage or work out session at the gym which you may have experienced before but rather a guided intervention using a range of techniques based on a physical diagnosis made by your therapist. Your medical doctors treat tissue disease, while we treat the many side-effects of these ailments. For example, your medical doctor may prescribe medication for your arthritis while we might prescribe a combination of exercises and stretches which can restore muscle strength, increased range of motion and joint mobility which subsequently reduces pain and restores function. Physical therapy alone can often provide significant relief but Doylestown Physical Therapy Associates believes it is typically the combination of interventions between your medical doctor and our therapists that provide the best outcomes.
Doylestown Physical Therapy Associates Philosophy of Care
We believe physical therapy should be tailored for the individual.
We believe it should be delivered only by a licensed PT.
We believe that during a session you should have full access to your treating therapist and not have to compete with other patients for attention.
We believe that you should be seen for the length of your care by the same therapist to insure that personal goals are being met and continuity of care is not disrupted.
We believe this philosophy makes Doylestown Physical Therapy Associates special and unique. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions about the services we offer.
